PBJ Marshmallow Bars (2)We’re having another heatwave as I write this. The oven will NOT be turned on. So, in my ongoing effort to give you monthly suggestions of recipes which use Sweet Jumbles Marshmallows, I’ve found one that, while does use the stove, at least doesn’t require the oven. Sweet Jumbles Parfait for One

Sweet Jumble Trifle2Holy Moly, I just made these Sweet Jumbles Parfaits 10 minutes ago, and the blog must be written immediately before I go into a sugar coma. They are SWEET – small but mighty! The recipe below is for a single serving, but they’re easy enough to increase proportionately and serve several. Continue reading

Nutella Chocolate Chip Skillet Cookie

Nutella Choc Chip Skillet Cookie2Peanut Butter, Nutella, and Chocolate chips?  Yes, please.  This skillet cookie makes for a great group dessert – cut it up like a pie and serve a la mode.  I will mention, though, that the wedge shown in the images here proves that my eyes were bigger than my stomach.  Cut about 1/2 this size and you’ll have a normal serving! Krispie Jumbles

RiceKrispy1This is the first in our new monthly series of recipes which incorporate our Sweet Jumbles Marshmallows as an ingredient! To start things off easily, we’re tipping our hats to childhood favorite Rice Krispie Treats!

The great thing about using Sweet Jumbles Marshmallows in this recipe is that you can use pretty much any flavor that we offer!  The images below simply show our Vanilla Bean marshmallows being used, but imagine how delicious these are with Chocolate, Caramel, or Fluffernutter Marshmallows!

1 dozen Sweet Jumbles Marshmallows
3 ½ c crispy rice cereal
2 T butter

  • Grease an 8×8 pan with butter. (For thicker marshmallow treats, use a smaller pan or double the recipe).  Set aside.
  • In large saucepan melt butter over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Marshmallows may brown slightly as they cook – this is OK and it will not be noticeable in the final product.
  • Remove from heat and add a crispy rice cereal (such as Kellogg’s Rice Krispies). Stir until well coated.
  • Using buttered spatula or damp fingertips, press mixture into prepared pan. Cool. Cut into 2-inch squares.

Stay tuned for the next marshmallow recipe in June!

Red Velvet Cheesecake

RedVelvetCheesecakeIt’s officially spring, despite the fact that today’s weather has been significantly cooler than in weeks past. With temperatures hovering around 40 degrees, it’s hard to believe that a week ago we were going outside without a jacket.  Despite this setback, spring is officially here and warm weather must be right around the corner. Cranberry Shortbread Cookies

Cranberry Shortbread1Shortbread cookies are one of my favorites, yet I always seem to forget about making them when I’m deciding what to bake next.  They’re so simple, but so light and delicious.  When I found a recipe for shortbread cookies with dried cranberries, I knew they’d be a perfect baking project during this past weekend’s blizzard. Gingerbread Cheesecake

Gingerbread cheesecakeThe New Year is just days away and I bet many of you are still in Christmas-recovery mode.  I know I ate a TON over the holiday, and that will likely not change until after New Year’s Eve when I intend to eat at least twice my body weight. Continue reading

Salted Chocolate-Caramel Cookies

Season’s Greetings!

Chocolate Caramel Cookies3It’s that crazy week-before-Christmas. For some people, that means it’s time to hustle – buying gifts, wrapping gifts, running here to there. For me, it’s time to relax and enjoy myself. How can that be!? Well, between Thanksgiving and mid-December Sweet Jumbles is in the throes of fulfilling Christmas orders for our Marshmallows, so there is zero time to procrastinate in early December. Once the third week of December rolls around and our last orders ship in order to make Christmas delivery, our shop closes until the New Year; the chaos comes to an abrupt halt and there is time to just be. Part of “being” for me includes baking – a pastime that is often pushed to the back burner when marshmallow orders are pending. Continue reading
