The New Year is just days away and I bet many of you are still in Christmas-recovery mode. I know I ate a TON over the holiday, and that will likely not change until after New Year’s Eve when I intend to eat at least twice my body weight. Continue reading

Season’s Greetings!
It’s that crazy week-before-Christmas. For some people, that means it’s time to hustle – buying gifts, wrapping gifts, running here to there. For me, it’s time to relax and enjoy myself. How can that be!? Well, between Thanksgiving and mid-December Sweet Jumbles is in the throes of fulfilling Christmas orders for our Marshmallows, so there is zero time to procrastinate in early December. Once the third week of December rolls around and our last orders ship in order to make Christmas delivery, our shop closes until the New Year; the chaos comes to an abrupt halt and there is time to just be. Part of “being” for me includes baking – a pastime that is often pushed to the back burner when marshmallow orders are pending. Continue reading
The Best Blueberry Muffins
It has, sadly, been too long since I shared a baking recipe with all of my very patient readers. I have had less time to bake as I continue working on the retail side of Sweet Jumbles, trying to keep up with our Gourmet Marshmallow orders. Earlier this summer we celebrated our 1,000th order (that’s order of any size, not individual item, and some orders are quite large!) and things have been consistently busy all year. Continue reading
Refrigerator Pickles
Lots of changes in Sweet Jumbles-land. Though all are completely unrelated to this blog or the Sweet Jumbles Gourmet Marshmallows, our time has been occupied with minor medical issues, a new job (yes, I do something other than bake!), and my birthday (party, party!). Continue reading
Hot Chocolate Pudding
So here’s the thing, I had an excess of hot chocolate. While I’ll enjoy a mug or three each winter, I had accumulated numerous packages and canisters of hot chocolate powder over the years, and in my small kitchen it was occupying valuable space. Unable to convince myself to throw it out, I happily discovered a recipe for chocolate pudding made from hot chocolate mix!
Apple Cider Caramel Cookies
2015 is here! Happy New Year to all of our friends and followers! We hope you had a wonderful holiday season and that a great year lies ahead.
We had some time this past weekend to bake cookies, using ingredients that we just so
happened to have on hand. These Apple Cider Caramel cookies are a great wintertime recipe. (As an aside, you could totally omit the caramel and they’d still be delicious.) I still have a ton of caramel cubes sitting around so don’t be surprised if they pop up again in a future post! Continue reading
Baked Apple Chips
The Christmas season means that Sweet Jumbles is spending most of our time selling our marshmallows. Therefore, it’s really not until the last-minute that we’re able to enjoy any seasonal baking or Christmas cookie decorating.
The sweetness of the season is so good, but sometimes a healthier snack is in order. This year we tried Baked Apple Chips. They were delicious and extremely easy. Continue reading
Ice Cream BonBons
I love ice cream, and I have been holding on to a BonBons recipe from Food & Wine for some time. I finally got around to making them, and it about drove me to the nut house – not because they were all that complicated or impossible, but because the recipe was terrible! (A surprise, as Food & Wine generally publishes pretty accurate instructions.) Continue reading
Butterscotch Chocolate Chip Cookies
My how time flies. It has been too long since I updated this blog. As you may imagine, Sweet Jumbles has been very busy on the business side of things, filling lots of Gourmet Marshmallow orders. With Mother’s Day next week, we had lots of people buying sweets for mom! Continue reading
