Lots of changes in Sweet Jumbles-land. Though all are completely unrelated to this blog or the Sweet Jumbles Gourmet Marshmallows, our time has been occupied with minor medical issues, a new job (yes, I do something other than bake!), and my birthday (party, party!).
On the marshmallow side of things, we recently introduced a new Chocolate Peanut Butter Reese’s marshmallow which has been in high demand. If you like the chocolate/PB combo, this is for you!
Today I am sharing a non-baking recipe for you, because I think it’s a great one as we head into spring and then summer. This is a refrigerator pickle recipe that anyone, and yes I mean anyone, can do. A colleague gave me this recipe and I was skeptical at first, but it proved to be delicious. I’d highly recommend making these for bar-b-ques this summer, and if you are invited to one take this as a unique gift for the hosts! Voila!
2 T salt
1 c sugar
1 c vinegar
onion to taste
celery seed to taste
- Peel and slice cucumbers
- Marinate mixture of all ingredients for a minimum of two hours
- Refrigerate and enjoy!
